All is quiet along Magazine Street today. We dodged whatever that was brewing off the coast of Florida and today has been lovely instead of the washout we were all expecting. The shop has been a bit slow today, but you can't have it all.
Yesterday morning and early afternoon were just a madhouse at The Mann! The Fox TV show, K-Ville was filming just outside our door until around 1 o' clock in the afternoon. It was very exciting. We don't get much excitement on this end of Magazine Street- unless you count crack whores or those idiots who drive the wrong way down this one way part of the street - and a full scale TV production sure got our attention.
On the jewelry side of things, the people who clothe the K-Ville universe came into the gallery and pretty much cleaned us out of jewelry. We thought we were well stocked for Art for Art's Sake - NOT ANYMORE! Unfortunately, my bracelets were not on the list of purchased items (boo-hoo), but here's a nice list of who they did buy....
Tom ( of course), Mark Garcie ( NOLA watermeter pendants), Wasabi, Alexis Bittar,Tana Acton ( the most amazing wire wrap cuffs you WILL EVER SEE, Andrea Janosik ( fabulous leather flowers with silver and pearls is what the gallery carries, but her feather and fabric pieces are to die for), Avant Garde (silver plated cuffs from Paris), and one of my favorite designers EVER - Lorelei Hamm. Lorelei does not have a website, but you can find her beautiful, feminine designs in most jewelry galleries. Google her and there is a long list of places that carry her work. She is also a very nice person. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Baltimore Craft Show this year.
Tonight I am going to the movies, but hopefully I will finish some pieces I have been working on and get some photos up by Monday.
